Bill DayI am a local authority appointed governor and an accountant at an engineering company. I joined Ravensdale’s governing body in 1993, becoming Chair of the Finance Committee. Since 2001 I have been Chair of the Governing Body and I am also a member of the Resource Management Committee.
My children, Stuart and Jenny, attended Ravensdale and it was at this time that I first became a governor. They both moved onto Caludon Castle School, before gaining university degrees. I firmly believe that both my children benefited greatly from their time at Ravensdale.
I know that the children and staff, with exceptional support from parents, make Ravensdale very special. However, it is essential that we all continue to work in partnership and strive “to be the best we possibly can”.
Mary JonesI became a governor fourteen years ago (in 1997) because of my continuing interest in, and experience of, education. It is a way in which I can serve the community which gave me a good start in life.
As a retired teacher I bring an understanding of school life; the needs of and the demands made on both staff and children.
I serve on the Finance, Staffing and Curriculum committees; being Chair of Curriculum and the vice-Chair of the governing Body.
I am a past pupil of Ravensdale, two of my children and one of my grandchildren attended the school. My childhood home was in Mellowdew Road and I still live in the area.
Kay WhiteMy involvement in Ravensdale School began in 1990 when the eldest of my two children started at Playgroup. From that point on, I have contributed to the life of the school in a variety of ways: fundraising for the then self-financing Playgroup; volunteering in school to listen to readers; help with art, DT and school trips; being involved for seven years with the PSA (three as its Chairperson) and, probably most significantly, the last sixteen years as a Teaching Assistant.
I have been a member of the Governing Body since 1998, serving on Resource Management, Curriculum and Premises Sub-Committees. During that time, I have been involved in the recruitment of many class teachers and TAs, two deputy heads, one Assistant Head and two Head Teachers. I believe that excellent staff delivering high-quality teaching will enable the children at Ravensdale to receive the best possible start to their education in a safe, welcoming and happy environment.
Carolyn HadleyI am a Staff governor, I support the governing body by providing my views and opinions from an education view point. I attend sub committee meetings and provide teachers with feedback from governors meetings. I am keen to support in the strategic leadership of the school in my role as Deputy Head Teacher.
Lynn KnightI have been involved at Ravensdale since 1996, working first as a lunchtime supervisor and then as a teaching assistant. I have three children who all attended and enjoyed their time at Ravensdale and still speak fondly of the school.
I have been a Staff Governor for six years, serving on Resource Planning, Curriculum and Premises sub-committees. My aim is to make a valuable contribution to the Governing Body to ensure the best education for the children at Ravensdale.
Jim DaviesI became a Governor in 2005. My two children currently are in Years Two and Three. I work for Warwickshire County Council as a Planning Officer. I became a governor to support the school in developing its education for all children.
Sam BurdettI'm aiming to use my experience as a Human Resources Assistant at Whitefriars Housing Group to benefit the school as much as possible. As part of my current role, I provide support to employees and help to recruit new staff. Before this, I worked as an Assistant Manager for Wilkinson's, recruiting, inducting, training and developing staff in-store.
I became a Parent Governor in May 2007 because I wanted to give something back to Ravensdale. The school provided my daughter with exemplary care in all her years at Ravensdale. She has now left but I am still constantly impressed by the support and extra-curricular activities available to our children at Ravensdale.
Caroline HowellI became a Ravensdale parent governor as my daughter Rebecca started Reception in 2007. I aim to make a positive contribution to the school and community using my experience as a mother, art graduate, journalist and businesswoman. I now run my own PR consultancy with experience in the art, social care, construction, education, learning and training sectors. I look forward to supporting the other governors and Head Teacher Jayne Ellis in her role, to give all pupils the best possible learning experience and start to their education.
Steve AdlardI joined Ravensdale as a parent Governor in October 2007. Both my son and daughter attend the school. I joined as a Parent Governor in order to contribute to the school and as I have an interest in people's development at all ages. I have spent my career working in the field of developing people in a business setting and aim to contribute my enthusiasm for development in supporting the school.
Tracey ScobbieI decided to become a parent Governor in order to give something back to the school. My father went to the school and so did I. My youngest daughter is in year 2 and my 3 other children all attended Ravensdale. I believe passionately that children are entitled to receive the best education and experience from their time at school and as a parent governor I hope to be able to help them achieve this. I worked in the Civil Service for 27 years mainly in HR before being made redundant. I then took the opportunity to change career and I have recently started a new position as a Teaching Assistant at another Coventry Primary School.

Lorraine HarkinI work full time for the National Policing Improvement Agency as a Trainer and have 3 children who enjoy attending Ravensdale School. I am keen to become a parent Governor so I can contribute my experience and knowledge of educational development, equality and inclusiveness. I am eager to support the school and governors in making decisions that will impact on all the children’s education and well being.

Carl ChristonI am a newly appointed Community Governor for Ravensdale Primary School, having taken up the position in January 2012. My 'day job' is at Barclays, where I am responsible for the Resource Planning across all of our 1630 UK branches, including budget management, allocation of staff, productivity and Customer Service levels. Prior to this I had a 21 year career with Tesco, whom I joined since leaving school.
I have strong links to Ravensdale, having been a pupil here myself between the age of 4 to 10, as well as my sister and my mum who are also former students.
I was inspired to take up the Governor role following on from the community work we do at Barclays - I want to use the skills and experience gained throughout my career to help to give something back to the community which was so instrumental to me in my younger days. I am motivated and passionate to help the school to be the best it can possibly be.
